Q: How do I know what is a link?
A: A link is a clickable icon, image, or text that takes you to a resource.
A link can be an image or a line of text. Text links at this site are always either blue or pink while "non-linked" text is black. The different colors of text links denote whether you have visited this resource before (Blue=unvisited, Pink=visited).
Links can also be an image or even a portion of an image. For example. On the left of this page is a graphic that has "hot spots" linking to various resources at this site.

QUICK TIP
Having a hard time discerning links. Watch the mouse pointer. In most modern browsers the pointer will turn to a hand or some shape other than a arrow when they are over a link.

Q: How do I get back to a previous page?
A: Your browser has a button that is usually located near the top left of the browser's window. This button will have either the word BACK or an arrow pointing to the left. You should always use this to navigate back to previous sources. Remember that the browser records the order in which you visit a page. For example. If you click "starting page" from here, and then click another link from the new page, you would have to click the BACK button twice.

QUICK TIP
Don't like clicking BACK over and over to get to a previously visited page? In newer browsers, if you click and hold the BACK button, it will drop down a sequential list of already visited pages from which you can select and travel to one directly.
